Thank you Riverside families, staff and community! With a significant portion of the money raised during the 2008-09 school year, events such as the Boosterthon Fun Run enabled the Riverside Playground Committee to complete Phase One of the playground renovation. Phase One improvements included removal of original play equipment, relocation of pavilions and benches, general grading and leveling of the playing field. Students and staff alike will enjoy the new walking track that covers the perimeter of the playground. In addition, a portion of new playground equipment for grades 3-5 has been installed. During the 2009-10 school year the Riverside PTA and Playground Committee will continue to raise funds to begin Phase Two of the playground renovation scheduled to begin summer 2010. With the support of Riverside families and community, the playground committee plans to add onto existing playground structures as well as install new equipment for special needs students. Additionally, with enough funds raised, a central shade structure to be utilized as an outdoor classroom will be installed. This is a large, expensive project and the Playground Committee knows it can’t depend on Riverside families and staff alone to raise funds. The Playground Committee is looking for any businesses that are interested in being a part of our project. It is with the kindness and generosity of our community and corporations alike that the playground renovation has become a reality with the completion of Phase One. Riverside PTA recognizes that each and every member of the Riverside Family is important to make our school a great place to learn. Riverside is a place where we strive to attain goals and maintain high standards for learning each day. The PTA is pleased to announce that during the 2008-09 school year, we are kicking off a playground renovation project. Our playground improvements aim to create an inclusive playground that all students at Riverside can enjoy. This updated playground will reflect our standards, as well as our pride in our school. You can view a map of the proposed playground design by clicking here.

In conjunction with this exciting endeavor, we invite everyone at Riverside to "Play Your Part!" Through this new campaign, we challenge every member of the Riverside family to give ONE HOUR of his or her time to help our school. This hour of time can be given in many ways, in whatever "part" you can play. We have many volunteer opportunities inside and outside the school throughout the year, and we realize that not all parents are able to join us for activities during the school day. We hope you will accept our challenge and support our campaign by accepting some of the volunteer opportunities found here. Thanks for all you do to support Riverside PTA!
